A walk in the city gives continual visual delight.The reflections on windows with mannequins posing; the balletic movement of pedestrians, the collage created by street ads, gutter street expressionism: that is why I carry a camera whenever I’m out walking.
I’ve been making photographs since, a young man newly arrived in New York, I bought a second-hand camera. If the light falls for just a passing moment on a subject that excites my interest, I’ll take a photo. So much is chance: perhaps the picture will be good.
