My practice as a visual artist has been informed by and grown with my career as a theatrical scenic artist. Scenic artists paint and/or sculpt a designer's vision into existence. The materials and processes that I have learned to use while working in fabrication have led to experimentation ; a curiosity that developed into a body of work. My fine art practice began at the scale of my work on sets, in the form of murals, public art and installations. My current work has condensed to the size of traditional illustrations. I delight in painting creatures, robots,and other playful extrapolations of reality. My visual style has a tendency to change but is consistently influenced by comics and advertisements from the early 20th century. I live, work and will eventually die in Brooklyn NY.
